Peer Tutoring
The Peer Tutoring Program has been established to help students achieve their academic goals. The Camner Academic Resource Center currently has over 100 peer tutors, both undergraduate and graduate, working to aid fellow students to achieve their goals. Each tutor is scheduled to work according to his/her expertise and available times.
University of Miami registered students are eligible to receive tutoring at the Camner Academic Resource Center at no cost. The student must be registered in the course they are requesting tutoring in and must fill out a "Student Request Form" form, each semester before they can make appointments in order to receive appointments. Each student may have up to two (2) hours per subject per week. Exceptions are made on a case by case basis and only by the Assistant Director of Tutoring or ARC Director.
Peer tutoring at the ARC offers a wide selection of courses that varies each semester. Students can review specific course material, master basic concepts or improve on skills under the guidance a peer tutor. Students meet with peer tutors on a one-on-one basis or as a group during finals review sessions. Dates for finals review sessions will be posted on flyers and posters aroung campus as finals approach.
